4-H'er Participates in National 4-H Conference

Chase Smith of the Whites Creek Critters 4-H Club (far left), was one of four delegates to represent West Virginia 4-H Program at the National 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C., this past week. The other delegates include (l-r): Drina Kerns of Doddridge County; Faith Reed of Raleigh County; and Katlyn Jones of Kanawha County.

The National 4‑H Conference is the pinnacle experience in 4‑H Civic Engagement, providing the opportunity for young people to connect, learn, engage, lead and impact their communities, their nation and their world. The conference, held April 6-11, 2019, facilitated direct opportunities for youth to apply what was learned in real world experiences using their voices, work, ideas and/or behavior to make a difference.

Recruiting Children for Energy Express Program

The four Energy Express sites in Wayne County are recruiting children for the program. The sites include: Buffalo Elementary, C-K Elementary, East Lynn Elementary, and Fort Gay PreK-8.

4-H Camp Registration is Open!

Wayne County 4-H Projects Due July 8

Wayne County 4-H members should turn in their 4-H Projects by Monday, July 8, into the Extension Office in Wayne. Members should bring the exhibit part of the project to the Wayne County Fair on Monday, July 29, between 4 and 7 p.m., to Exhibit Hall at Camden Park. Here is more information to navigate this aspect of the 4-H program year.

A Few Amazing 4-H Volunteers

These are just a few of our program's amazing 4-H volunteers that lead 4-H clubs, serve at 4-H camp, or provide general support to our county's 4-H program. We could not do what we do without them.
