Youth "Travel" to Colombia, South America

The last International Cooking class was held February 18, 2019. Youth “traveled” to Colombia, South America and learned to make a chicken stew, corn cakes, and a strawberry meringue. Eleven youth participated in this four class series. Other countries "visited" include: Italy, South Africa, and South Korea. Thanks to all the youth who “traveled” and learned a lot along the way about different cuisines. Youth "Travel" to Italy

The first of four international cooking classes was held January 28, 2019 at the Wayne County Extension Office. Youth learned about the country of Italy and how to make homemade pasta and bruschetta! Youth got to use a "blender bike" to help chop up tomatoes for the bruschetta. To learn more about 4-H opportunities, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.

Youth "Travel" to South Africa

The second of four 4-H International Cooking classes was held on February 4, 2019. Youth "traveled" to South Africa and learned how to make several ethnic dishes. Youth that are participating in this four week class series include (l-r, front row): Grayson Smith, Addy Smith, Josie Parsley, Marah Christian, Jenna Adkins and in the back row (l-r): Ashlee Bell, Alyssa Lambert, Benton Hall, Conner Hall, Duke Parsley, and Danielle Adkins. Youth "Travel" to South Korea

The 4-H International Cooking Class "traveled" to South Korea on February 11, 2019! Youth learned how to make sushi rolls, did a blind taste test of several different rices, learned about rice production in the United States, and got to write their name in Korean.
