Registration Open for Energy Express Program

We are recruiting children for the Energy Express program in Wayne County. There will be four sites that include: Buffalo Elementary, Ceredo-Kenova Elementary, Crum PRK8 and Fort Gay PRK8. Parents can register their child through the Wayne County Board of Education website. Registering for the Summer Exploration Program, registers them for the Energy Express program too.

International 4-H Travel Club Heads to Argentina

The International Travel 4-H Club will hold its last virtual club meeting this month. The club will travel virtually to the South American country of Argentina to explore this beautiful country. 4-H Summer Fun Days

Registration is open for Wayne County 4-H Summer Fun Days for our enrolled 4-H member. Please select the camp your child would like to attend and click on the link below to register. Each opportunity listed below can only take 20 youth maximum. All standard COVID-19 precautions will be apart of the 4-H Summer Fun Day programs (face masks, social distancing and hand-washing).

Annual County 4-H Round Up

County 4-H Round Up - the 2021 Wayne County 4-H Day will be held this year.  If you plan to participate in this county-wide event, please review the attached document with rules and guidelines. Register no later than Monday April 26, 2021. Please make sure that speeches, visual demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations, the 4-H Pledge are YouTube links and photographs be in a jpeg format. Cookie entries should be dropped off at the Extension Office by the deadline.  Visual Demonstration, Public Speaking, and PowerPoint that win on the county level will be entered into the State 4-H Virtual Day Contest. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Tritz.

4-H Leaders Meet In-Person for First Time in a Year

March 16, 2021 was a great day. It was the first time in one year that the Wayne County 4-H Leaders Group met in person since the pandemic started in March 2020. Several 4-H Leaders got together outside to help plan for in-person programs this summer. There are many great opportunities to volunteer with the Wayne County 4-H Program. 4H Leaders Meeting In-Person for First Time in One Year

Youth "Travel" to India & Vietnam as part of International Travel 4-H Club

The International Travel 4-H Club traveled virtually to India and Vietnam on March 23 as part of their monthly club meeting. Youth studied about both countries prior to the meeting, identified and made a dish to talk about and played a game of Kahoot to test their knowledge of these two beautiful countries. Youth Speak on Pen Pal Program in Live TV Interview

Two Wayne County 4-H members (l-r) Alivia Adkins of Wayne and Josie Parsley of Lavalette are participating in the WV 4-H Pen Pal Program. On March 25, they did their first live TV interview with anchor Susan Nicholas with WSAZ Channel 3  News to speak on their experiences with the program. We are so proud of the job they did representing the program and Wayne County 4-H! Summer Employment with Energy Express

We are now hiring staff for our Energy Express sites at Buffalo Elementary, C-K Elementary, Crum PRK8, and Fort Gay PRK8. We are recruiting college students and high school seniors who will be 18 years old by June 10th. This summer position is from June 10 - July 30 with a living allowance of $1,850 and an education award of $1,342.86. Please visit the Energy Express application to apply.
