4-H Club Honors Veterans

Whites Creek Veterans Day Parade

The Whites Creek Critters 4-H Club hosted a float in the annual CK Veterans Day Parade on November 10. While it was a bit on the cold side, our 4-H'ers had a lot of fun promoting our program and celebrating our veterans.

Shooting Sports Club Elects Officers

Sharp Shooters 2018-19 Club Officers

The Sharp Shooters 4-H Club elected officers for the upcoming 4-H year. Congratulations to them on their willingness to serve and lead their club. They include (l-r): Breanna Crockett, Secretary; Ashlee Bell, Treasurer; Andrew Kelly, President; and Adam Jeffers, Vice President. Schools Complete 4-H Projects

Recently the Wayne County office wrapped up the Know Your State 4-H Project with 3rd graders at East Lynn, Prichard and Fort Gay Elementary schools. This project has allowed youth to learn about West Virginia symbols, rivers, the economy, famous West Virginians and a variety of other content.

Each student made either a WV mobile or a stamp which will serve as their exhibit at the 2019 Wayne County Fair next August. To learn more about the Wayne County Fair or the Wayne County 4-H program, please contact our office at 304-272-6839

Brumfield Recognized as Outstanding 4-H Volunteer

During Volunteer Leaders Weekend recently, Phyllis Brumfield of Genoa (center) was recognized as the 2018 Wayne County Outstanding 4-H Volunteer. Phyllis has served as a volunteer for the past four years as a Club Leader of the Genoa Warriors 4-H Club. She has also been a tremendous asset to the 4-H Camp program. Her children - Conner and Benton are both actively involved in the program - availing of many of the opportunity available to youth. Congratulations to Phyllis on this well-deserved honor!
