The 4-H Ambassadors held their monthly meeting on January 15, 2019. They worked on a promotional video for the 2019 National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) that will be held at The Greenbrier November 3-7 to help showcase a few of the great things about Wayne County, WV. They are among teens across the state, creating unique videos about their county while promoting the 2019 conference.

Ambassadors Meet with County Commissioners
Members of the 4-H Ambassadors (Erin Ferry and Conner Hall) met with the Wayne County Commissioners to learn more recycling efforts in the county, given their interest to help expand these efforts. CS First Clubs at Lavalette Elementary
The WVU Extension Service Wayne County Office started the 8-week long computer science program on January 4 at Lavalette Elementary with the 4th and 5th grade classes. Through this program, youth will learn basic computer science principles in a hands-on and engaging way. To learn more about this program, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.
4-H Hosts Regional Qualifier
The Wayne County Regional Qualifier was held January 5. Results will be known at a later in January once targets are scored. Many thanks to all our coaches for their dedication and
commitment over the past several months of weekly practices.
The youth who competed include: Addy Smith, Aubrey Dillon, Ayden Copley, Matthew Crockett, Duke Parsley, Breanna Crockett, Okey Napier, Alex Hall, Kelton Creed, Andrew Kelley, and Chase Smith.
2019 Horse Show Dates Announced
Two Horse Shows have been announced for 2019. The dates include:
Open Horse Show: July 27, Registration at 8:30 a.m., show at 10 a.m.
2019 Wayne County 4-H Camp Dates Announced
The Wayne County 4-H Program is excited to announce the dates for 2019 4-H Camp season:
Cloverbud Day Camp: June 11 - 14 at Mays Chapel (target age 5 - 8 years)
After School Does Coding
Wayne Elementary After School invited 4-H to conduct the Animate a Name science experiment on December 17. This was part of the 2018 National Youth Science Experiment which focused on computer science. 15 students participated in this after school program bringing the total to over 200 students throughout Wayne County who completed this program this fall.

Genoa Warriors Spread Christmas Cheer
The Genoa Warriors 4-H Club recently made 75 beautiful Christmas cards
and tissue flowers for residents of the Charter House to help spread
some holiday cheer. Club members include (l-r): John Moore, Conner Hall, Benton Hall, Jasmine Maynard, Burl Duncan and Eva Moore. The club is led by Phyllis Brumfield and Valerie Robinson.
