International Cooking Series Kicks off with Australia


A few highlights from the first session of our International Cooking series where youth “traveled” to Australia on Monday, January 27 at the Extension Office. Youth had the opportunity to make Australian mince pies, lamingtons (a type of cake) and try Vegemite, a popular food spread in Australia. Enjoy the pictures! Highlights from the Regional State 4-H Air Rifle Qualifier

The Regional State 4-H Air Rifle Competition was held in Wayne on January 11, 2020. Results will be available later this month. Congratulations to all our youth on a job well done! The youth involved include (l-r): Matthew Crockett, Bekah Napier, Laura Queen, Aubrey Dillon, Ayden Copley, Alex Hall, Josie Parsley and Duke Parsley. Teens Meet to Gain Leadership Skills

Using the Learning to Lead 4-H Project, interested teens spent part of their Thanksgiving break at the Extension Office to gain leadership skills in a fun and hands-on way. Teens did a leadership assessment and learned about decision-making, teamwork and communication skills. The teens include (l-r): Ayden Copley, Simon Ballengee, Rebekah Napier, Riley Copley, McKenzie Cassells, Benji Chute and Kyle Wrobleski. Chase Smith (far left, bottom row) of the Whites Creek Critters 4-H Club of Prichard was one of several delegates from the WV 4-H Program to attend National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia in late November. Results from the 2019 Beef Bowl Quiz

On December 7, the Wayne County 4-H Beef Quiz Bowl teams competed at the state contest at Stonewall Resort. The junior teams finished 9th and 17th with the senior team finishing a county best of 4th. The senior team was made up of three juniors and a senior. Congratulations to our 4-H members on a job well done!
