Wayne County 4-H members competed in the West Virginia 4-H Air Rifle Competition
in Morgantown on January 26, 2019. Chase Smith and Andrew Kelly made the top four
out of 20 competitors and will represent the county and state at the National 4-H
Shooting Sports competition in Nebraska this June. Chase Smith placed first in
the state competition and also set a new state record with a score of 521. Other
placings include: Andrew Kelley in 2nd place with a score of 517; Alex Hall in
6th place with a score of 474; Breanna Crockett in 7th place with a score of 473;
and Kelton Creed in 12th place with a score of 450. Ayden Copley placed 6th out
of 10 competitors in the Junior Division with a score of 393.

The 4-H Shooting Sports program has a long-standing tradition in Wayne County. It started back 2005 and has featured many successes for youth and coaches over the years.
