The Wayne County 4-H Ambassadors met earlier this week and made 65 "cupcake" socks for residents at the Wayne Nursing Home and also held their monthly meeting and did some planning for 4-H Older Camp which will be held the week of June 22 at Cabwaylingo! The teens present include (l-r): Iggy Ballengee, Zacharia Ballengee, Danielle Adkins, Simon Ballengee, Brenna Barnett, Zara Harold, Bekah Napier, Alivia Adkins, and Conner Hall. Youth "Travel" to Sweden for Cooking Class
Youth “traveled” to Sweden on February 17, 2020. Fifteen 4-H members made Swedish meatballs, kladdkaka (type of chocolate cake) and raggmunk (type of potato pancake). The picture featured shows a 4-H member tasting these dishes that they made from scratch. Wayne Middle School Students Taste World Breads
Wayne Middle 7th graders learned about different countries by
taste testing a variety of different breads. This was part of an in-school enrichment program. Naan, a traditional
oven-baked bread found in India and King’s Hawaiian butter rolls originating in Hawaii, USA were the clear favorites!

Dunlow Elementary Participates in Engineering Program
The five-week Sky’s the Limit Engineering program kicked off on February 21 with youth in 2nd-5th grades at Dunlow Elementary School. The Wonders 4-H Club held their monthly meeting this morning at the C-K Library and made lap throws for the nursing home and played jenga as a fun activity. This 4-H Club is lead by 4-H Club Leaders Autumn Starcher and Michael Patton. The club's next meeting is Saturday March 28 at 10 a.m., at the C-K Library. Seeking to Hire 24 AmeriCorps Members
Wayne County will have four Energy Express sites. The sites will be located at Buffalo Elementary, C-K Elementary, Fort Gay PrK-8, and Lavalette Elementary.
We are in need of mentors and community coordinators! We will be hiring 20 AmeriCorps Mentors and four AmeriCorps Community Coordinators.
First Meeting of the International Travel 4-H Club
A new 4-H Club is coming to Wayne County! The International Travel 4-H Club will hold its first meeting on Tuesday March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) and explore the Emerald Isle. Each month the club will focus on another country as a way to better understand the world around us! Any interested youth are welcome to join us. Youth Participate in State Poster Contest
Wayne County community 4-H clubs as well as our after school sites (Buffalo Elementary, Prichard Elementary, and Kellogg Elementary) participated in this year's State 4-H Poster Contest. Donation Given to Lily's Place
The Wayne County 4-H Ambassadors Team collected items in January to give to Lily's Place in Huntington. Lily's Place provides medical
care to infants suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). Team members collected paper towels, trash bags and other supplies for Lily's Place. News from Trout's Hill 4-H Club
The Trout's Hill 4-H Club met Friday February 14 at the Wayne Methodist Church. Club members made a snowman as their craft project, learned about circuits and got to see a few pictures of the Wayne seniors enjoying the Valentine Day cards they made the month prior!
