Entomology 4-H Project Area
Hands-on activities will help you learn valuable life skills through insects found in the soil, on plants, in homes, on pets and in other secret places! Level 1 and 2 booklets contains activities for two years. Level 3 contains activities for three years.
- Teaming with Insects – Level 1 (Entomology 1) introduces the world of insects. Activities focus on how they look and move and provide some background for studying important entomology topics.
- Teaming with Insects – Level 2 (Entomology 2) shows how to make insect collection tools, and expands on the basic concepts of biodiversity, invasive species, integrated pest management, and forensic entomology.
- Teaming with Insects – Level 3 (Entomology 3) delves even deeper into the basic concepts and encourages youth to take control of their learning by doing their own research using the scientific method and reference materials.
If a member completes the seven (7) years of project manuals, they can work with their county Extension professionals to determine their learning opportunities for their remaining 4-H years.
