Community Club Meeting Ideas for 4-H Volunteers
As a West Virginia 4-H volunteer professional, you give a lot of your time to our
organization. We recognize that it can sometimes be difficult to plan a 4-H meeting
focused on
the four priorities of 4-H community clubs. We wanted to provide a resource
for you to draw on to help support you in this work. Whether you are a seasoned
4-H community club volunteer or you are just starting out, this page is intended
to provide you with ideas to engage youth in all aspects of the club meeting around
monthly themes - from start to finish!
If you are unable to meet in person, these ideas can easily be adapted to a "meeting-in-a-bag"
method. This method allows you to provide your members with the materials they
need to engage meaningfully with each activity from the comforts of their
own home. You can simply organize the supplies needed, instruct members to pick
up their bag at their local extension office, or drop the items off at their house
yourself. Then host your monthly 4-H club meeting virtually. This will allow
youth to continue to engage with you and their peers through meaningful 4-H community
club experiences as they develop important
life skills.
We have plans created for six months worth of meetings! You can also create your own meeting with this choice board!
