The CEOS Garden Club met November 12, 2019 to learn about the herb sage and its different uses. Club members made sage oil as a hands-on activity. For more information, call the Wayne County Extension Office at 304-272-6839.

The Buffalo CEOS Club met November 5, 2019, and did a CEOS lesson on Apple Cider Vinegar. The Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) offers opportunities for learning and fellowship for adults in Wayne County. The Buffalo Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) Club hosted their annual Breast Cancer Awareness event at the Town of Kenova gazebo. Tim Bias, Mayor of Kenova, declared it Breast Cancer Awareness month with members of the Buffalo CEOS Club, staff from the Wayne County Community Services Organization, and Zack Jarrett, Interventionist with the W.Va. Breast & Cervical Cancer Program. Those in attendance include: Tim Bias, Ruth Reger, Zack Jarrett, Dot Cullars, Tammy Fuller, Jennifer Perdue, Lisa Palmer, and Donna Matney. Many thanks to Robert Pasley, President of the Wayne County Commission for declaring it Breast Cancer Awareness month in Wayne County on October 1, 2019! We thank our Community Education Outreach Service (CEOS) program and members of Marie's House for faithfully supporting this annual event! The Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) Garden Club a established a beautiful raised flower bed at the entrance to Wayne (near Valley Health). Club members include (l-r): Donna Ferrell, Sarah Marcum, Trish Harris, and Nancy Crockett. The Quilt and Fiber CEOS club created these beautiful Adult Clothing Protectors for the nursing home as a community service project. If you would like information about joining our CEOS program, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.

It's that time of year again! Our CEOS members are taking orders for 16 oz. bags of pecan halves for $10 each. If you would like to order fresh pecans (yet to be harvested), please call our office at 304-272-6839.

Highlights from the Charleston Area meeting hosted by the Boone County CEOS members - great program and time of sharing and fellowship. The theme was "Mend a Heart Together." CEOS members Betty Webb and Audrey Willis were able to attend. Many thanks to Trish Harris and Nancy Crockett for putting together a beautiful donation basket! The CEOS Quilt & Fiber Club did a fall craft on September 10 as part of their regular meeting as well as learned how to do a V-stitch. The club is always looking for new members. To learn more about this club, please call our office at 304-272-6839!

The Wayne County CEOS Program will host two free events breast cancer awareness events on October 1. Please join a nationwide effort to raise awareness of the importance of finding breast cancer early. The first event will be at 10:00 a.m., at the Wayne County Courthouse and the second one at noon at the City of Kenova Gazebo. All are welcome to attend.
