2020 Charlie Rickman Scholarship Award Winners

The Wayne County Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) supports an annual 4-H camp scholarship in honor of Charlie Rickman, who served as an Extension Agent in Wayne County for over 30 years and passed away in August 2015. The scholarship is awarded to youth who demonstrate loyalty, commitment and dedication while in engaged in 4-H camp activities and provides a full scholarship to attend a 4-H Camp in 2021. This year's recipients were Alaina Jackson from 4-H Younger Camp on June 18 and Aubrey Ward from 4-H Older Camp on June 26.

The in-person 2020 4-H Camps were canceled and replaced with camp kits and an online component to provide positive youth development opportunities to youth throughout Wayne County. Little Free Library Updated

Our Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) program made an investment in Little Free Libraries several years ago. Earlier this year, our CEOS members painted the library located outside the WVU Extension Service Wayne County office to give it a fresh look. The Little Free Library program encourages the public to take a book and leave a book - it is free and open to anyone. If you are interested in learning more about the CEOS program, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.
