Finance 4-H Project Area
The 4-H Finance project area consists of two youth notebooks. Each notebook covers two years of activities.
From organizing finances to learning about savings, risk management and consumer breadcrumbs, the My Financial Future series helps middle and high school youth develop critical skills and knowledge in money management. Participants learn about financial literacy concepts through case studies and real-life scenarios. Additional concepts covered include career planning, setting up SMART goals, managing financial records, creating spending and savings plans, choosing payment methods and managing credit.
My Financial Future is not a traditional project. It is designed to be used
by groups. If you are doing this project as an individual, you may need both the
Facilitator Guide and youth notebook to complete the activities. Please return
the Facilitator Guide to your local Extension Office at the conclusion of your
project work so it can be reused with the next interested 4-H member.
If a member completes the 4 years of project manuals, they can work with their county Extension professionals to determine their learning opportunities for their remaining 4-H years.
Scoresheet
Each year, 4-H members should complete 5 learning activities. Record in your work
in the youth notebook, including the what, when, where, and how you accomplished
each selected “More Challenges” activity. Include your notebook with your project
book for grading.
Download a copy of the scoresheet to determine what is expected for project completion.
