WVU Extension Service 2019 Garden Calendar Gets Back to Basics

The cover of WVU Extension's 2019 Garden Calendar features a boy in Mountaineer gear wearing gloves and holding fresh compost. The cover reads Back to Garden Basics.

As interest in growing food and gardening continues to rise, WVU Extension Service is helping new and seasoned gardeners gain tips, educational information and more via the 2019 garden calendar.

The calendar, themed “Back to Garden Basics,” features information on how to pick and enhance soil, choose a garden site, create a pollinator habitat, grow fruits and vegetables in small spaces, watering, canning and more.

The calendar also offers bonus materials and highlights that include growing advice, pest management tips and recipes from WVU Extension Service experts. Beginning in early 2019, the calendar also will be available online and will feature bonus articles geared toward helping growers make the most of their gardening efforts.

To obtain a copy of the calendar, while supplies last, or learn more about gardening and healthy lifestyles, contact your local WVU Extension Service office. Visit WVU Extension Service online and follow @WVUExtension on Facebook and Twitter to get additional tips and information.
