Shawn Morgan grew up in Apple Grove, West Virginia, before attending West Virginia University where she earned her law degree and a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.
Ms. Morgan works as a litigation partner at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, focusing on resolving crises for clients in the areas of cybersecurity, complex civil litigation, internal investigations, white-collar defense, and government compliance. She is also a former federal prosecutor.
When not trying cases, she handles government and regulatory investigations and serves on Steptoe & Johnson’s Emergency Response Team. Ms. Morgan serves as an appointed member of her city’s Police Civil Service Commission and on the Boards of Harrison County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Hotsinpiller Memorial Foundation.
A long-time 4-H member and leader, she and her husband have volunteered at State 4-H Camps at Jackson’s Mill and as local 4-H Club leaders. In recognition of these efforts, she was named by WV Executive magazine and the WVU College of Law to its 2024 class of Lawyers & Leaders.
She lives in Bridgeport, West Virginia, with her husband Tim.
