Matthew Helmondollar

WVU Collegiate 4-H Representative

Matthew R. Helmondollar is an undergraduate student at West Virginia University majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education with a minor in Public Relations. A third-generation 4-H’er, Matthew grew up on his family’s beef cattle farm in Taylor County, West Virginia, where he developed a strong work ethic and passion for agriculture.

He is an active member of the Taylor County 4-H program and spent his youth attending camps, exhibiting livestock, and serving as a teen leader.

Since beginning his education at WVU in 2022, Matthew has been heavily involved in the WVU Collegiate 4-H Club, and has served as Community Service Co-Chair, Fundraising Co-Chair, Vice President, and currently, as Secretary.

He helped organize national 4-H conference trips to Montana and New Mexico after WVU hosted the event in 2023.

Matthew’s continued his dedication to the youth of West Virginia by serving as a WVU Extension Camping Instructor in 2023 and 2024 and as a Mercer County Extension Intern in 2025, where he assisted with camp programming and fundraising. He also contributes to WVU’s Extension Mentoring in Evaluation Program and serves as a Davis College Student Ambassador.

Matthew is a West Virginia 4-H All-Star and Dean’s and President’s List honoree and is committed to leadership, community service, and lifelong learning through 4-H and Extension.
