Jon Bourdon

State Conversationist, Natural Resources Conservation Service

Jon grew up in Lee, Massachusetts and graduated from Morehead State University with a bachelor of science degree in environmental science and agricultural business. 

Jon began his career with the Soil Conservation Service in 1988 as a soil conservationist in eastern Kentucky and later in Connecticut. In July 1992, he was selected to become the district conservationist in Marietta, Ohio

Jon became the acting assistant state conservationist for field operations and area resource conservationist in OH Area III in 2017 before he was selected as ASTC-FO for OH Area III in 2018. Jon served as Ohio’s acting state conservationist for four months in 2020 until he was selected as the state conservationist for West Virginia later that year. 

Jon resides in Morgantown with his wife Crysta and has six children and one grandchild. In his spare time Jon enjoys comedy, live music, vacations, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics.
