John Stallings

Superintendent, Taylor County Board of Education

Dr. John Stallings has spent nearly 50 years in and around the Taylor County school system as both an educator and administrator.

In 1975, he earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education at West Virginia University, where he also earned his master's in education administration and a doctorate in education.

In 2023, Stallings became the superintendent of Taylor County Schools, but has served in numerous other roles in the county since his start in 1975, including director of special education, principal, teacher, and director of curriculum and instruction.

Stallings also served as an associate professor and director for WVU's five-year teaching education program from 2013-19.
