Birds 4-H Project Area
Observe birds throughout the year and keep a list of the species you see, identifying at least 20 different birds. Find and identify one or more bird nests. Choose and complete any three elective activities from the project.

Year 1: This project is designed for a period of one, two, or three years. You will complete the two basic requirements, and any two of the elective activities. You should learn to identify at least 20 different kinds of birds, and identify at least one nest.
- Year 2: The basic requirements will be repeated, and you should learn at least 15 new birds in addition to those of the first year, and find and identify at least two nests. You will complete any three of the elective activities.
- Year 3: You will again repeat the basic requirements, add at least 15 more kinds of birds, and find and describe at least three nests. You will complete any four of the elective activities.

Create a poster presentation that highlights your bird study project. Your poster should clearly show what you learned and accomplished during the year. Example components are included below.

Field Notebook Summary
A visual summary of your bird observations, such as a bird list, charts, maps, or short written notes showing when and where birds were observed. -
Nest Documentation
Photographs or drawings of the bird nests you found, along with brief descriptions (location, materials used, and type of bird if known). -
Elective Activity Evidence
Photographs or actual samples of items you made or maintained for elective activities, such as:-
