New Email Newsletter for County CEOS Program

With the pandemic and the inability of our CEOS clubs to meet in person, the Wayne County Extension Office is starting a monthly electronic newsletter that will also be mailed to all active CEOS members. This will help our CEOS members stay engaged and up to date on all the latest CEOS news. We will also include in the mailing a CEOS lesson - this month members will receive "West Virginia's Wild & Wonderful State Parks" authored by WVU Extension faculty from Fayette and Wyoming counties.

If you would like to be added to the CEOS email newsletter, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.

CEOS Virtual Garden Showcase

Our Virtual Garden Showcase features several gardens. The first is by Courtney Ballengee of Westmoreland. Her garden photos show that you do not have to have a lot of land to have a vegetable garden. You can use raised beds and existing flower beds to get homegrown produce. Below is a photo of Courtney's raised beds.

CEOS Garden Club Helps Local Library

CEOS Garden Club members Nancy Crockett and Trish Harris served at the Wayne Public Library earlier this month. They pulled weeds out of the library's main entrance flower garden so that mulch could be placed down. Service to the community is central to the Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS). To learn more about CEOS, contact our office at 304-272-6839.

The CEOS Garden Club member Nancy Crockett and her husband Bruce weeded and watered the flower garden at the entrance to Wayne over the weekend. Little Free Library Updated

Our Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) program made an investment in Little Free Libraries several years ago. Earlier this year, our CEOS members painted the library located outside the WVU Extension Service Wayne County office to give it a fresh look. The Little Free Library program encourages the public to take a book and leave a book - it is free and open to anyone. If you are interested in learning more about the CEOS program, please contact our office at 304-272-6839.
