- 1 head green cabbage cut into ¾ inch thick slices (4-5 cabbage steaks)
- 4 Tablespoons olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon coarse salt
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
- Preheat large skillet over medium high heat.
- In a small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons olive oil, balsamic vinegar and honey.
- Arrange cabbage slices in shallow plate and brush with honey balsamic vinaigrette. Season with salt and ground pepper and sprinkle with thyme.
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to skillet.
- Transfer cabbage steaks to hot skillet and cook on both sides until cabbage slices are crisp tender and edges are golden – about 15 minutes total, brushing regularly with honey balsamic mixture.
- Transfer pan-seared cabbage steaks to plate. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper and sprinkle with fresh parsley (optional).
