Geology 4-H Project Area

The 4-H Geolog project area consists of two project manuals. The first manual is for year 1 and the second manual will be used for years 2 to 5.

• In Geology: Can You Dig It?, you will discover our planet’s past with clues in rocks, minerals, and fossils that you collect. Learn where to find these items, how to identify them, and how they formed. Showcase all your findings in a display of your design.
• In 4-H Geology: Introduction to the Study of the Earth youth will look at the story of the earth to gain a better understanding of the earth and the sources of the minerals youth use each day. This manual is divided into four levels - Pebble Pups 1, Pebble Pups 2, Rockhound 1, and Rockhound 2.

If a member completes the 5 years of project manuals, they can work with their county Extension professionals to determine their learning opportunities for their remaining 4-H years.
