What is a "Campership"?

  • A Campership is financial support to attend a weekend event or week-long camp.

How do I request a "Campership"?

  • Camperships can be requested as part of the event registration process in ZSuite.

How much can I request in Campership money?

  • Campers may request up to the full event fee minus $25. The $25 accounts for the “retainer fee.”

What is a “retainer fee” and when is it due?

  • A retainer fee is a $25 minimum registration cost that ensures your spot in camp. The $25 retainer fee is due by the event's payment deadline. The payment deadline for each event can be found in the description of the event in ZSuite.

How many camps can I request a Campership to attend?

  • Campers will be eligible for one (1) weekend and one (1) week-long state supported campership within the calendar year (Jan-Dec). Campers may request additional state supported campership money, but will have their request held as pending until all other first-time requests are reviewed and will be granted on a case-by-case basis depending on the funds available.

What is a Campership request deadline and when is it due?

  • A Campership request deadline is the last day to formally request a Campership. Camperships requested after the deadline will be granted on a case-by-case basis depending on the funds available. Campership deadlines are 1 month before the event itself, 2 weeks before the event registration closed. The Campership deadline can be found in the description of the event in ZSuite.

My county provides me with money to attend camp. How do I request additional funds?

  • You can request additional Campership funds in the registration. Please note that county money will be deducted from your Campership request. If your county provides for example $100 and the event costs $400 and you need $200 more from the State Campership fund, you should request a total of $300.

Do the State Campership guidelines impact my county money?

  • State Campership guidelines do not impact your county scholarship processes. Please check with your local agent to determine how much and how often your county grants scholarship money for both weeklong and weekend camps.
