A champion for West Virginia, Lauren Seiler, CFRE, serves as director of development for WVU Extension Service.

Seiler, a Morgantown native, has been working to garner support for WVU Extension Service since 2018, and she’s excited to build on the successes she had in her position as assistant director of development.

“I care deeply about our state, and I understand the important role WVU Extension Service plays in our communities. The work we do and the resources we provide are life-changing,” Seiler said. “I’m excited to continue doing my part to help us extend those outreach efforts to build a stronger West Virginia – our communities have never needed us more.”

Before joining WVU Extension Service, Seiler served as assistant director of development and outreach for WVU’s College of Education and Human Services, where she was responsible for overseeing the college’s annual fund, events and scholarship program. Prior to her position at CEHS, she worked at the WVU Foundation for five years.

Seiler’s strong fundraising background and passion for West Virginia make her a perfect fit for this position to carry out WVU’s land-grant mission.  She truly enjoys connecting donor’s passions to various programmatic, scholarship and capital opportunities to meet the needs of West Virginians.  She supports WVUES’s resilient faculty and staff to find innovative ways to deliver content and meet the needs of youth and adults throughout the state.

Seiler holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis on public relations from the WVU Reed College of Media. While studying at WVU, she served as drum major for the WVU Marching Band, so she’s well equipped to lead WVU Extension’s development efforts. She earned her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) title in March of 2021.
