Business Pitch Competition
This year, we're launching a brand new part of the West Virginia Women in Agriculture Conference – the Business Pitch Competition! Whether you're a repeat attendee or brand new to our conference, we invite you to submit your agribusiness ideas and compete to win up to $3,000 in prize money for your agribusiness.
Eligibility
The Business Pitch Competition is open to any aspiring, beginning or mid-level agribusiness owner in West Virginia.
Purpose/Overview
The West Virginia Women in Agriculture Business Pitch Competition is designed to help jump-start new operations or make improvements to existing agribusinesses in West Virginia.
Timeline
- September 30, 2025 - Deadline for video entry. Participants should submit a 5-minute video describing their business idea.
- October 6, 2025 - Semifinalists announced.
- October 31, 2025 - All semifinalists will prepare a 6-minute business pitch (with 4 minutes of Q&A) to be delivered on Friday, October 31, during the dinner of the Women in Agriculture Conference, 6:30-8 p.m., Stonewall Resort, Roanoke, West Virginia. Five finalists will be chosen.
- November 1, 2025 – Finalists will deliver a 12-minute final business pitch (with 5 minutes of Q&A) during the afternoon session of the Women in Agriculture Conference, 1:30-3 p.m.
Awards
- 1st Place Winner: $3,000
- 2nd Place Winner: $2,000
- 3rd Place Winner: $1,000
Additionally: Each of the 10 semifinalists will receive $400 in support toward registration, room and board for the West Virginia Women in Agriculture Conference.

Participants will work with Dee Singh-Knights and Emily Morrow on Business Pitch presentation for the competition.
