Cattlemen Learn about General Farm Safety

The Wayne County Cattlemen had Jessica Stricklen with the W.Va. Department of Agriculture give a talk on general farm and tractor safety at their monthly meeting held at the Extension Office on March 22, 2018.

Over 20 farmers attended this meeting to learn more about farm safety. The next Wayne County Cattlemen meeting will be Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 7 p.m., at the Extension Office.

Wayne County Encouraged to Participate in WV Urban Ag Conference

The WV Urban Ag Conference will feature two days (April 13–14) of hands-on workshops for home gardeners, urban homesteaders and urban farmers. Learn about garden basics, marketing farm products, home preserving and more. The conference will be held at Camp Virgil Tate in Kanawha County (address: 1400 Camp Virgil Tate Road, Charleston, WV 25312)

A day of pre-conference sessions on the topics of cheesemaking, chickens or beekeeping will be offered on Thursday, April 12 with limited spaces available for each section. Register online for the WV Urban Ag Conference.

Wayne County Cattlemen to Have Speaker on Farm Safety

The Wayne County Cattlemen will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday March 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the WVU Extension Service office in Wayne. Jessica Stricklen, the Health & Safety Coordinator with the WV Department of Agriculture will speak on General Farm & Tractor Safety. All are welcome to attend.
