Wayne County Ag community Encouraged to Vote on May 8

Since the 1950s, Wayne County voters have continuously supported the excess levy, which is renewed every five years. This levy does not raise taxes , but simply continues the rate that has been in place. This levy supports several organizations in the county, including the WVU Wayne County Extension Office. Early voting starts April 25 and runs through May 5, 2018. Voting day is May 8, 2018.

Farmers Market Nutrition Program Training in Huntington

This training give participants the opportunity to accept vouchers used by the West Virginia Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Participants must be trained in order to cash the Senior and WIC Vouchers. Participants must also submit an application to West Virginia Department of Agriculture every year if you wish to participate in the program! Applications will be available at the training.

Retired Wayne County Extension Agent Passes Away

On Sunday, April 8, 2018, our beloved County Extension Agent, Carl Marcum passed away. He served Wayne County for 33  years and retired in December 2012. This photo features the time when Carl started as the County Extension Agent in 1979. Carl is surrounded by Charlie (Stickler) Rickman (left) and Meg Baughman (right).
