Ideas for a CE session? Want to learn more about a garden topic? Here's your chance.

The CE Committee invites you to develop a CE session for the association and present it to them. Prep hours can be divided between CE and volunteer credit as needed. One hour CE for the presentation itself. Talk should be around 45 minutes or so to allow for questions from members. If you have already created a slide show for the website, you can present it for additional credit. For questions and topic approval, please contact Sara Welch.

Having problems getting your CE hours? Here's a solution: You can get up to half of your required hours by watching YouTube or Google videos on gardening topics. We need for you to send us the information below to help us build a library of good garden videos. We hope to build a strong list of good quality video for members to use for CE and to gain garden knowledge. Count length of video as CE.

Here's another idea. A few members are pursuing the option of preparing a CE for association members. Not everyone has time or interest to prepare a lengthy program. We hope to have a CE to showcase members interests and talents through a series of 5 to 7 minute presentations later in the spring. Four to five presented in an evening would equal an hour of CE for members. Presenters would receive an hour of CE and volunteer or CE time for preparing the presentation. Send ideas to Sara Welch.

Volunteer Opportunities

Extension Office Front Desk

Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday at the front desk at the Extension office. There are two shifts a day from 9 a.m. to noon, and noon to 3 p.m. Please use Sign up online or call Extension at 304-720-9573. Please call or sign in before coming. Kerri will have information for you and she also needs to let security know to let you in.

Hubbard Hospice House

Still need volunteer hours? Garden, prune and weed on your schedule. Contact James at 304-926-2200. James will explain what needs to be done and can meet you at the garden.

Manna Meal Garden

Come volunteer at the Manna Meal Garden and bring a friend. No experience necessary!  We’d love for you to come help even if it's only an hour of your time. We garden every Tuesday and Saturday morning from 9 - 11 a.m.  The garden is located at the old Rock Lake Swimming Pool in Spring Hill, across from the Rock Lake Presbyterian Church. This is a great way to get your volunteer hours for certification. Volunteers give their time and labor to garden so "the hungry can eat."
