Cranberry & Orange Infused Water

cranberry and orange infused water

The holidays are fast approaching, bringing with them a bounty of homemade goodies.

It’s sometimes difficult to eat healthy during this time of year, but one of the best and easiest ways to enjoy your meal while still cutting unnecessary calories is to keep sodas, coffee drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages off the table. In fact, Americans get 46% of our added sugars from sugary drinks.

So, this year, why not Rethink Your Drink by whipping up a pitcher of fruit-infused water. It’s healthy, and a great way to introduce fresh flavors to your holiday table. And, when served in an attractive pitcher or dispenser, the water makes an attractive addition to your sideboard or centerpiece.

Here is one of our favorite infused waters, perfect for your next family get-together or office potluck.

Cranberry-Orange Water

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 small navel orange
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • 1 gallon of water

Add cranberries to a bowl and mash with a potato masher. Peel orange and separate into sections. On a cutting board or other flat surface, smash cardamom pods with flat side of chef’s knife. Add all ingredients to container and pour water over. Refrigerate for 12–24 hours before serving.
