WVU Extension celebrates new beginnings in Cabell County

West Virginia University Extension, which operates in all 55 counties in West Virginia, is strengthening its service to Cabell County by welcoming a 4-H Youth Development agent and opening a new office location for the community earlier this month.

Officials from the University, Cabell County Commission and Cabell County Board of Education, along with 4-H members and volunteers, Master Gardeners and members of the community, recently gathered together to commemorate the newly relocated office with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

WVU Extension strengthens college pathways for West Virginia middle school students in the classroom and on campus

During the spring 2026 semester, more than 1,000 youths participated in West Virginia University Extension college-focused engagement efforts across the state, with more than half being middle school students. These efforts connected students from more than 40 counties to WVU through a variety of entry points, from in-school visits and campus tours to academic immersion experiences and statewide events.

WVU Extension Moundsville Young Innovators unveil Graffiti Wall project at community-wide event

The Moundsville Middle School Young Innovators club, a program facilitated by West Virginia University Extension, hosted a kickoff event on May 6 to celebrate the opening of their Graffiti Wall, a student-driven initiative to beautify and bring art into their community.
