West Virginia’s top innovators take home nearly $300K at the Mountain State Innovators Summit

From young inventors to high-growth potential business founders, some of West Virginia’s most forward-thinking minds were celebrated this week as winners were announced at the Mountain State Innovators Summit, held November 12-14 at Stonewall Resort.

Hosted by the Hayhurst Family, West Virginia University Extension and the WVU Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab, the Summit brought together finalists from across the state to compete in eight live pitch competitions, awarding more than $300,000 in total prizes to entrepreneurs, students, and community leaders.

West Virginia University Extension Women in Agriculture  is excited to announce the winners of its inaugural business pitch competition during the  2025 Women in Agriculture Conference , with the winners being awarded a total of $8,000 in seed money to jumpstart their project.

Monroe County welcomes Wickline as WVU Extension 4-H youth development agent

Emma Wickline.

Emma Wickline is the newest addition to West Virginia University Extension’s 4-H program. She will serve as WVU Extension 4-H youth development agent for Monroe County, bringing experience in youth engagement, agriculture education and community outreach.
