Global Education
Today’s interconnected world calls for understanding and appreciating diverse cultures. Our Global Education School Enrichment program for grades 6–12 helps students develop global awareness and citizenship skills through hands-on learning.
Using the nationally peer-reviewed Global Citizenship Curriculum, participants engage in interactive skill-a-thons, designed to celebrate diversity and foster critical thinking. This program equips youth with the knowledge and perspective they need to thrive in a culturally diverse, globally connected society.
This school enrichment program consists of 6 lessons and can be combined into 5 sessions, if needed:
- Lesson 1 - Language Recognition & World Demonyms - Students explore language, culture, and geography while building awareness and interest in global diversity.
- Lesson 2 - Learning English - Students learn about barriers to language learning, practice effective communication with non-native speakers, and appreciate the challenges faced by English language learners.
- Lesson 3 - Power Outage - Students learn about the importance of electricity, explore its main sources and global scarcity, and highlight everyday devices that depend on electrical power.
- Lesson 4 - Daily Tasks and Modern Conveniences - Students are introduced to different cultures through hands-on activities focused on daily tasks and household items.
- Lesson 5 - What is Beauty? - Students explore diverse cultural definitions of beauty and examine social constructs to build awareness and interest in global citizenship.
