Energy Express set to expand thanks to 3-year AmeriCorps grant

West Virginia University’s Energy Express is excited to announce it has been awarded a competitive, three-year AmeriCorps grant to ensure continued support for children, families and communities across West Virginia.

Energy Express, a program in the Division for Land-Grant Engagement that operates through the Center for Community Engagement in partnership with WVU Extension, is a free, six-week summer program focused on improving literacy and nutrition for low-income and rural children entering first through sixth grades.

Aetna Better Health of West Virginia helps to change lives of youths in foster care through 4-H

Five years after West Virginia University Extensionteamed up with Aetna Better Health of West Virginia to provide funding for youths in foster care to join 4-H, the program has helped more than 700 youths and donated more than $50,000 to county 4-H programs.
