The beginning of October ushers in the new 4-H year. West Virginia University Extension's 4-H program welcomes current and new families to enroll in the new 4-H year starting October 1, 2021.

The 4-H registration process has moved online into ZSuite. A household completes all registration forms and participant waivers in this system. Participant waivers include a Health form, Media release, Transportation waiver, ADA accommodation needs, and the Code of Conduct. Following the waivers, members will be asked to select 4-H clubs and 4-H projects they wish to participate in during the upcoming 4-H year. Volunteers will also need to enroll in ZSuite.

  • New 4-H households will have to create a ZSuite account, add household members, and complete enrollment forms and waivers for each person.
  • Returning 4-H households will need to log into their ZSuite household account to complete the enrollment forms for the new 4-H year. Most information has been carried over from the previous year, allowing current members to quickly review and update their information for the new year.

Incentives

To celebrate the start of the new 4-H year and to encourage youth and volunteer enrollment in ZSuite, a special incentive prize will be awarded to one youth and one volunteer in each county.

To enter the raffle, youth members and 4-H volunteers need to enroll or re-enroll for the 2021-2022 4-H year in ZSuite between October 1, 2021 and October 31, 2021.

This year's prize will be a 4-H Camp Chair from Shop 4-H. Names will be randomly selected by the West Virginia University's state 4-H Office. Winners will be notified via email during the first week of November.

Many county 4-H programs also offer local incentives and 4-H kick-off events during the month of October.
