Wayne County Points of Pride

The Wayne County Extension Office offers a wide variety of programs and services to the citizens in Wayne County. Below are some notable mentions for 2019 include:

  • The Family Nutrition Program had over 100 adult graduates as a result of its program. Adults learned about the importance of a healthy well-balanced diet and regular physical activity.
  • The three Wayne County CEOS Clubs offer a wide variety of hands-on educational workshops and support several community service initiatives throughout the year.
  • The Wayne County 4-H Heritage Quilt Trail features over 25 barn and building quilts. This effort is the direct result of 4-H teens giving leadership to this community service project. To learn more, visit Wayne County 4-H Heritage Quilt Trail Facebook page.
  • The 4-H Program supported the efforts of 175 volunteers that reached over 2,500 members. This includes youth involved in the in-school enrichment program with the Family Nutrition Program, 4-H clubs, and residential and day camping programs.
  • Wayne County has eight 4-H clubs and support three after school programs that provide youth with educational and community service opportunities with caring adults as positive role models.
  • Over 2,500 Garden Calendars were given out to the public.
