Popcorn is a fun, easy snack to make. Join Energy Express on WVPB host Joel Brown for a reading of “The Popcorn Book,” followed by some popcorn popping fun and yummy toppings you can add to your snack. ( You will need paper lunch bags, popcorn, cooking oil, your favorite topping, a microwave and an adult to help make this recipe.)
WVU Extension Service 4-H agent Becca Fint-Clark, and her daughter, Rory, will lead us in a fun paper plate tennis racquet activity you can make and play at home. ( You will need tape, paper plates, popsicle/wooden sticks, a balloon and markers for this activity.)
Wednesday, July 8, 2020, 9:30 a.m.
Amie Tutor, our Family Nutrition Program Youth health educator, will tell you what “plant parts” you can eat. Later, you can enjoy a reading of “Tops and Bottoms.” ( For the activity, you will need a piece of paper, a pencil/marker/crayon and different leaves from plants/your yard. Be sure ask an adult if it's okay to use the leaves, first!)
We will cap off the episode by learning how to make a delicious and nutritious recipe from Molly Poffenbarger of our Family Nutrition Program. ( For the recipe, you will need red leaf lettuce, spinach and/or kale, vinegar, vegetable oil, honey, mustard, cinnamon, salt, strawberries, and measuring cups/bowls/tongs.)

Sing along with Belinda Nicholas, our nutrition outreach instructor with our Family Nutrition Program, and join her for a reading of "I Like Myself." Belinda also has a great, easy energy bites recipe that she will share with you – a snack the whole family will enjoy. ( You will need oats, honey, peanut butter, instant dry milk and rice cereal to make this recipe.)
Mitch Clowes, WVU student and a STEM ambassador, will round out this episode by reading "Did a Dinosaur Drink This Water," followed by a fun grow dinosaurs STEMCARE activity. ( Children enrolled in Energy Express should have been provided with this activity.)
