Your copy of the WVU Extension Garden Calendar – Back to Garden Basics – is waiting for you at the WVU Doddridge County Extension office! The "basics" theme for our 2019 WVU Extension Service Garden Calendar was chosen because we are seeing more and more young people interested in gardening and who want to enjoy the satisfaction of growing their own food.
This is a free publication. It is produced and distributed each year as a service to West Virginia's many home gardeners and agricultural producers.
You will find great information on getting your garden started – from choosing the
right site and building the soil, to planning long term for your future harvests
through seed saving. You will learn how to build gardens to lure in our pollinators
and get some great recipes you can cook using your harvested crops. We also
have provided a list of WVU resources available to you as you begin your garden
journey.
