Workshops Descriptions
We sometimes struggle with older member retention but studies and experience show that older 4-Hers stick around when they feel like they are contributing to programs and their voice is being heard. Learn how to include older members more in decision-making and programming to keep them engaged and coming back as role models for your younger members.
December 9, 2021, Strong Clubs: Finding Your Fit
An important component of any 4-H meeting is the program. Good 4-H club programs do not magically appear – they are planned. Choosing programs for the year is often the first step in mapping out the club’s activities and helping guide youth in their own development and learning. Join us for an evening of exploring creative and unique club program options and for a chance to network with other leaders!
January 13, 2022, Strong Clubs: 4-H, More Than A Meeting
The 4-H Club Meeting is an important part of the 4-H experience. The Essential Elements,
Belonging, Independence, Mastery, and Generosity allow youth to engage and grow.
Learn about these four Essential Elements of Youth Development and the creative
ways we can incorporate them into club meetings. From social time to officers positions,
every moment of a meeting is helping youth grow.
February 10, 2022, Strong Clubs: Building Relationships
Ever feel like you are not able to connect with people in your clubs? Join us as
we discuss new ways to attract those hard-to-reach people, and why they are important!
March 10, 2022, Strong Clubs: Sunshine, Trees, & Trails
Nature is important to youth's development in every way - intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and physically. Learn about the importance of nature in a child's life, as well as outdoor activities for 4-H clubs meetings.
