West Virginia 4-H will be offering several Summer Sparks Virtual Sessions in the months of June and July. Each Spark will be a one time 1-hour program. You may sign up any session that ‘sparks’ your interest. Check the full schedule below and picked your Spark Session based on participant’s age. Session descriptions are below. All programs will be conducted virtually on Zoom. Once registration is completed you will receive the Zoom link.

To register go to 4h.zsuite.org. From the main dashboard, select the events tab on the left and use the search bar to look up the Virtual 4-H Summer Sparks. Registration opens on Friday, April 16, 2021.
JUNE SPARK SESSIONS
When I Grow Up: Healthy Living Careers How many times have you been asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" This session will introduce you to possible careers in the health fields--we will talk about a variety of careers, personal characteristics needed for health care professionals, and also meet some health care providers who will answer questions about their chosen career! This session will be Tuesday June 1st at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
Virtual Interview Tips and Tricks
Virtual Interviews are here to stay. This class will cover simple steps to
ensure that your interview presents the best you.
This session will be Thursday June 3rd at 1 p.m, and is for youth ages 14-21
Hour of Code: Data Bit Compression
At some point we reach a physical limit of how fast we can send bits, and if we
want to send a large amount of information faster, we have to find a way to represent
the same information with fewer bits - we must compress the data. In this hour
of code activity, participants will use the Text Compression Widget to compress
segments of English text by looking for patterns and substituting symbols for
larger patterns of text.
This session will be Monday June 7th at 1p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
Backyard Olympics
Join Heather and Becca in a fun-filled workshop where you can learn how to create
games and activities in your backyard with things you have around your house!
Find creative ways to have fun with things you have and challenge your family
with your activities.
This session will be Tuesday June 15th at 1 p.m., and is for youth aged 5-12
Soft Skill are the Key to Unlocking Your Future
! There is nothing more exciting than landing your first job and receiving your
first paycheck! However, it is important to understand and practice the
skills that will not only help you "land" your dream job, but to keep it.
Soft skills and professionalism are the keys to success--join me to learn more
about perfecting these skills.
This session will be Thursday June 17th at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
Debugging Grass Hopper
Participants will use JavaScript to figure out and solve bugs in a flappy-bird
style game involving a grasshopper.
This session will be Monday June 21st at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
Remember the Mindset
Please join me for a session that will help you believe that you can do anything
you set your mind to! We will be learning about growth mindset, the power of
yet, and how failure is helpful. We will be watching inspirational clips from
various movies, and doing fun activities to help build up your own growth mindset!
This session will be Tuesday June 22nd at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-21
JULY SPARK SESSIONS
Vision Boards Vision boards are simple yet powerful tools that allow us to begin making our dreams a reality and can also be called a goal board, goal map or treasure map. It is simply a visual representation or collage of the things that you want to have, be or do in your life. In this session, we'll discuss vision boards and also spend time building our visions together! This session will be Thursday July 1st at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 14-21
Paper Circuit Greeting Cards
Youth will make a light-up greeting card and learn about parallel and series circuits
in this STEAM activity. Requires conductive tape, LEDs, paper, and coloring utensils.
This session will be Monday July 12th at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
En-"vision"-ing the Future
Where do you want to be in the future? Did you know that vision boards are
a fun and creative way to help you focus and achieve your goals? Join me
to learn about how to make a personal vision board related to school, career,
or other personal goals and aspirations!
This session will be Tuesday July 13th at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 12-17
Travel the World with 4-H
Join us as we travel the world and explore places around the world that have 4-H
programs. We will also look at some international cuisines, play some onlines
matching games and test your knowledge of world geography.
This session will be Thursday July 15th at 1 p.m., and is for youth ages 8-21
