February is Heart Health Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. 1 in 4 deaths are caused by heart disease. The good news is, heart disease can often be prevented through healthy choices, exercise, and awareness.
The annual Community Education Outreach Service Heart Healthy Luncheon will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Elizabeth United Methodist Church from 12 - 1:30 p.m. The church is located at 49 Juliana Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143. The luncheon will be held downstairs in the fellowship hall.
The prevention of heart disease starts with awareness about risk factors that can lead to heart disease. Coplin Clinic will provide a presentation and an opportunity for questions during the luncheon. A blood pressure monitoring station will also be available free of charge at the event.
All community members are invited to attend this free event. Participants are asked to bring a heart healthy dish to share with the group for the lunch and learn.
