This year, National 4-H Week will occur October 7-13, 2018. As in the past, the
Leaders Association will be sponsoring a “decorated door” contest. Each community
club is invited to create and decorate anything that promotes 4-H. In the past,
4-H clubs have decorated storefront windows, garage doors, barn roofs, doors
at school, and created roadside signs.
The Leaders Association is asking that you utilize the t.heme “Discover the Treasure
of 4-H” when creating your “door.” Demonstrate the 4-H philosophy and this year’s
National 4-H Week and create a door. Be creative and remember that when you utilize
the 4-H name and/or clover, be sure to retain its integrity.
As in the past, there will be cash prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Displays should be completed between October 7-13 and remain up until October 31. In order for judging to occur, pictures need to be brought into the Monongalia County Extension Office or emailed to Becca by October 19, 2018, so that judging can occur. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office at 304-291-7201.
Plans are in the works for a National 4-H Week council circle. Please check back for more details.
