Monongalia County 4-H Pin and County Medal Nomination

To apply for an award pin in one or more 4-H Project areas, complete the below nomination for each pin. If you are applying or nominating someone for more than one pin, a separate survey should be completed for each pin. Nominations are due by September 11, 2020 and no late nominations or applications will be accepted. The Extension Office will not be completing nominations, as we have in the past. The only way to receive a pin is to complete the survey. Keep in mind the following criteria:

1. Age must have passed 14th birthday on or before January 1, 2020. Some county awards may be presented to young members if qualified in all areas except age.

Cheese Sale

We will again be offering the cheese and nut sale through Wilson's Zero Foods. This sale will offer different types of cheeses and bologna. Our 4-H program will receive a percentage of the sales. The order forms are now available at the Monongalia County Extension Office and on our WVU Monongalia County Extension Service Facebook page.

Orders and pre-payment due: to Extension Office on October 9, 2020
Pick-up: at the Extension Office on November 18 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Masks are required at pick-up.

Clover Challenge: Show Us Your Mask!

Here’s a fun way to pass the time! Join us in celebrating a theme each month by completing a Clover Challenge! Monongalia County 4-H members and family members who participate will receive a cool surprise in the mail!

Monongalia County 4-H Project Exhibit Information

An important part of 4-H is getting to show off your newly acquired project knowledge. Even in these uncertain times, we want you to be able to do that. We have been working hard to ensure that everyone can view these amazing projects!  So, to give everyone a chance to see your amazing work, Monongalia County 4-H is creating an online showcase of the exhibits. Here are the details:

Monongalia County is now currently accepting Energy Express applications

Energy Express is a summer reading program for children entering 1st through 6th grades. Energy Express is a free program that focuses on continuing literacy education throughout the summer months through art, writing, and drama activities. Although it may look a little different this year, we are still planning to offer the program.

WVU Zipline Canopy Tour with Monongalia County 4-H

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS CURRENTLY FULL - We are exploring additional opportunities in the future.

Monongalia County 4-H will be participating in a canopy zipline tour at the WVU Research Forest (near Cooper’s Rock) on Sunday, May 3 from 1–5 p.m. It is open to all 4-H members and their families and we have 24 spots. It will be on a first come, first serve basis.

National 4-H Congress and Conference Resume Information Now Available

Are you interested in meeting 4-H members from the nation, taking part in interesting workshops, and exploring a new area? If so, you should consider completing a 4-H Resume to be considered to attend National 4-H Congress or Conference as a West Virginia delegate.
