West Virginia 4-H’ers invited to WVU 4-H Soccer and Football Days this fall

Morgantown, W.Va.— West Virginia youths and family members can witness the Mountaineers in action at this year’s West Virginia University 4-H Soccer Day and Football Day in Morgantown.

Hosted by the 4-H Youth Development unit of the WVU Extension Service and WVU Athletics , the events invite youths to connect with each other and get a taste of West Virginia 4-H and WVU programs in true Mountaineer tradition.

WVU 4-H Soccer Day will be held Sunday, Oct. 8 at the WVU vs. Oklahoma women’s soccer game, 2 p.m. at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Participants can also sign up for a tour of the WVU campus prior to the game from 10 a.m. to noon. Space is limited, and registration closes Monday, Sept. 18.

WVU 4-H Football Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 14 as the WVU football team takes on Texas Tech at the Big 12 opener and homecoming game. The event will be a “Stripe the Stadium” gold and blue game, and the scoreboard will welcome 4-H’ers for the day. Space is limited and registration closes Friday, Sept. 8.

For more than a century, 4-H has focused on agricultural science, electricity, mechanics, entrepreneurship and natural sciences. Today, 4-H out-of-school opportunities also exist in subjects like rocketry, robotics, biofuels, renewable energy and computer science.
