WVU Fire Service Extension Offering Firefighter II Pro Board Challenge at State Fire Academy

WVU Fire Service Extension is offering a Firefighter II Pro Board Challenge at the State Fire Academy in Weston, West Virginia August 12 and 19 (must attend both days). Each day will start at 8:00 a.m. and go until all candidates are completed. 

Candidates are required to successfully pass the written test with a 70% (JBL Fire Fighter Skills 3rd Edition) and complete all practical skill stations IAW NFPA 1001 (Chapter 6, 2013 Edition).

For the Firefighter II challenge, each candidate must bring:

  • payment
  • copy of Pro Board or IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certificates
  • copy of a Pro Board or IFSAC Firefighter I certificate
  • copy of a current 1st Aid/CPR card , and 
  • certificate of training showing completion of a Firefighter II course of instruction.  

The candidate must be at least 18 years of age. The cost of the challenge is $150.00.

Each candidate must supply their own PPE to include SCBA. All PPE must be serviceable and in compliance. Candidates with unserviceable/unsafe gear will NOT be allowed to participate in the live fire evolutions.
